What are the network requirements for HALOS body cameras?

Meeting these requirements before deployment helps ensure smooth setup and reliable camera performance.

To ensure your HALOS body cameras connect reliably to a network please review the following requirements:

Network Type

  • WPA2-PSK security is required.

  • WPA2 Enterprise is not currently supported.

Frequency Support

  • Nano cameras: Must connect to a 2.4 GHz network.

  • Horizon cameras: Can connect to 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz networks.

Public or Open Networks

If the network is open (no password) but has a landing/registration/T&Cs page, the camera cannot complete this step. To connect in these cases, the camera’s MAC address must be whitelisted on the network to bypass the landing page.

SSID & Password Requirements

  • SSID (network name) and password cannot contain an apostrophe (').

  • SSID and password must not exceed 32 characters in length.

Firewall & Whitelisting

The cameras require certain ports and URLs to be open or whitelisted for connectivity with Vault. Please contact our Support Team to receive the full list for your IT administrator.
