What is a Basic, Supervisor or SOC (Security Operations Center) User?

Understanding user roles in HALOS Vault

In HALOS Vault, user roles define what someone can access and do within the system. Each role is designed to fit a specific level of responsibility, from basic access to full operational oversight.

Basic

  • Can be assigned to a camera

  • Can log in to Vault only if the “Can Login” checkbox is enabled

  • Can view only their own footage

  • Cannot create, edit, or manage other users

  • Suitable for frontline users who just need to access their own recordings

Supervisor

  • Can create new users

  • Can assign and unassign cameras

  • Depending on your organisation's set-up, they generally have access to:

    • LiveMap (real-time camera locations)

    • Case files (viewing, creating, editing)

    • Analytics (camera activity)

    • Livestreams

    • Camera configuration settings

    • Shop to purchase accessories

  • Supervisors only have access to the teams they are assigned to

  • Ideal for operational leads, team managers, or site administrators

SOC (Security Operations Center)

  • Designed for control room or live monitoring setups

  • Can access:

    • Livestreams

    • Two-Way Comms (if enabled for your setup)

  • Cannot manage users, settings, or footage

Choosing the right role ensures the right level of access and security across your organization. If you’re unsure which role someone needs, feel free to contact support for guidance.
