Guide on how to add a WiFi network to your body camera using a QR Code in Vault
If you entered your Wi-Fi details during the order process:
-
Your camera is already pre-configured. Once powered on, it will automatically connect to the provided network.
-
No additional steps are needed unless your network settings have changed.
If pre-configuration or WPS is not available or you need to update it, you can manually configure your camera using Vault.
Please note: Currently, configuration of camera settings via Vault is only possible for Horizon body cameras on the latest firmware. This is not available on Nano cameras.
To configure your body camera's Wi-Fi network via Vault:
- Log into your account via the HALOS Vault login page:
- Europe/UK Login: app.halovault.cam
- US Login: app.halovault.us
- Navigate to the Configuration section from the sidebar menu where you will see Wi-Fi Configuration - QR Code. Select this option - this will open a new page with additional instructions on how to set up the QR scanner on the camera
- Enter the Wi-Fi name (SSID) and Password into the text boxes. Please ensure this is an exact case match.
- Click Generate QR Code which will show a QR code under this section if successfully created. You will have the option to either scan the QR code on this page or download it as a PNG file.
- To scan the QR code, you will need to enter the scanner settings on the camera you would like to configure:
- Hold the P + FN button together to enter the menu screen
- Scroll down the menu using the FN button and select the QR Code Scanner option by pressing the front record button
- Point your camera at the QR code, ensuring it is roughly 15cm away from the screen
- If your camera has successfully scanned the QR code, it will vibrate and a Success status will appear on the screen. You camera should now connect to the new Wi-Fi network when in range.
