      Updating the configuration of your body camera

      Guide on how to configure your body camera settings via Vault

      Please note: Currently, configuration of camera settings via Vault is only possible for Horizon body cameras on the latest firmware. This is currently not available on Nano cameras. If you are interested in enabling this feature for your cameras, please register your interest here


      The configuration feature allows supervisors to re-configure a camera's settings via a QR code in Vault. Currently, you are only able to re-configure the following settings:

      • Wi-Fi network
      • Recording settings 
      • Pre-Record button
      • Record button 
      • 4g APN 

      To re-configure your body camera:

      1. Log into your account via the Halo Vault login page:
        1. Europe/UK Login: app.halovault.cam
        2. US Login: app.halovault.us
      2. Navigate to the Configuration section from the sidebar menu where you will see several configuration options:
        • Wi-Fi Configuration - QR Code
        • Recording Configuration
        • Pre-Record Configuration
        • Record Button Configuration
        • 4G APN settings

      3. Select the relevant option. This will open a new page with additional instructions on how to set up the QR scanner on the camera
      4. Update the settings as required depending on the option you selected: 
        • Enter the Wi-Fi name (SSID)  and Password into the text boxes. Please ensure this is an exact case match. 
        • Select the audio and resolution recording preferences 
        • Select the pre-record length (e.g. 10-60 seconds)
        • Select single or double tap to start/stop recording
        • Enter 4G SIM settings (APN Name, Account + Password)

      5. Click Generate QR Code which will show a QR code under this section if successfully created. You will have the option to either scan the QR code on this page or download it as a PNG file.

      6. To scan the QR code, you will need to enter the scanner settings on the camera you would like to configure:
        1. Hold the P + FN button together to enter the menu screen
        2. Scroll down the menu using the FN button and select the QR Code Scanner option by pressing the front record button 
      7. Point your camera at the QR code, ensuring it is roughly 15cm away from the screen
      8. If your camera has successfully scanned the QR code, it will vibrate and a Success status will appear on the screen
